Many foundations reject applications for funding for my volunteer service in Hungary from. The citation is then, under the statutes are only projects eligible for funding in the immediate region. Only if you say in the neighborhood is planning a local service project or shaping, may hope for donations. As FSJ volunteer I can not understand such positions.
In my ministry I go voluntarily as a helper in my home region to another country to show. "Where I come from, the interest in your fate We live on the same planet, the same continent's why we belong. together, even if several hundred miles separate us. " In a FSJ abroad is not about to move mountains, and from to conjure emergencies with a snap prosperity. FSJ volunteer abroad (like me) want to help in the first instance, compounds that arise between citizens of different continents and countries. Our aim is to stimulate interest in the fate of our fellow human beings.
We want and can not move mountains
volunteers act in mutual interest: the foreign partner and the German promoter of FSJ volunteers at the two ends of these multilateral meetings benefit from the volunteer service. Everyone hears about the existence of the other and shall have his name. We hear from one another about the joy that brings the service and feel that live out there also people abroad who are friendly and helpful. Now knows the foreign partners of the country of origin of the Voluntary Social Year and resort no longer has to be driven prejudices about this country. Ultimately, the two countries enter into dialogue with each other - not on a political summit, but at the grassroots level. (Even the roots of a plant are known to down while sitting up with the lovely flower.
This helps a FSJ abroad including the local region of Germany. Although not in the form a children's festival in Park City, but through an understanding of our fellow human beings. This can not result from the much-photographed handshake between two politicians. Do not push foreign and European affairs in the drawer "This has nothing to do with me." The handshake between two politicians is a visible sign of a bilateral relationship flourished. The roots of this relationship, however, are quite far down in the earth, the population of each country. If they provide no energy and no commitment to mutual understanding, the flower fades and becomes worthless. The promotion of FSJ abroad protects this blossoming of international understanding before wilting.
