It's alive! Boldog új After some startup problems during the first half of my voluntary social year, my work week has now changed somewhat. As in the previous post announced that I am working now at a school. In time it will work with the Hungarian language a little better. Thus, I can also arrive to work better in my office, the Malta Town Office for Budapest, and integrate. So my working week now looks around:
Monday: The day starts at 8.00 clock in the Miklós utca (City Center) with a discussion of the home care group. There all the nurses and the only male nurses are in the process. Especially after the weekend meeting is interesting because it we inform each other with their colleagues about the health of seniors. Over the weekend, quite a few changes, which then falls in an emergency in the jurisdiction of the weekend service. After the meeting I go "on tour" Budapest and check out "my" seniors. In my visits usually follow a weekly same pattern, to which both my patients and I have become accustomed. But ultimately we have to do so with people, so every day is always different, full of new challenges and interesting - and any planning allenfals nice to fill the calendar pages. The working day is also filled well, finally, do not want the seniors at a specified time from in order to re-start working the next day again. Nevertheless, the normal working hours eight hours, but following my closing time when I can, usually a different policy: final, when ready. And that can take before, but the radiant smile of the only other sad-eyed old lady is worth it.
Tuesday: Today is a day of school. Classes start at 8.00 clock in the Fö utca. To get there, I run with my first behind with books and other teaching materials packed bag on the thin ice of the platform of the regional train departing every moment of HEV, up there to Terminus back somewhat to catch his breath. This morning show could be through a reduction in the shower and breakfast time away - but early sport is finally awake. The small groups usually consist of students who are learning either very well and are ahead of the rest of their class - or those that are lagging far behind their classmates. This work I enjoy, just because the students in small groups and in individual interviews often surprisingly good Progress rest on the day and her German-school finally move back a little closer. The afternoon is free. This means I use the time to discover Budapest, implement various ideas for new projects, walked the official residence, filled the fridge some extent, and keep the clothes clean and dry.
Wednesday: stands today, as on Monday, again Sneiorenbetreuung on the weekly schedule. Against 17 clock I go to a homeless shelter, which is housed in an abandoned train station on the west. My work is just beginning and there is at present mainly from the food distribution. But I have some ideas for activities for the homeless. Such existed previously, but is not included for staff and money shortages at present. My work there is not one of my actual work. Earlier this year I'm out of interest with my roommate the train, as we call the shelter to visit. Since then I count the work there in my post-after-work activities.
Thursday: In the morning I work in the same school where I also supervise the students Tuesday. The afternoon I work on playgrounds in the Budapest housing estates. There, the children in a sheltered area outside and inside the chance to socialize and spend their leisure time. Together with other professional staff and volunteers there, I offer various activities for the children. Some weekends I will support trips with the children, for example, in an animal shelter or ice skating.
Friday: morning I visit some elderly, from 15 until I clock back in the playground social work program.
